Vishay Introduces New Ultra-Low-Power Commercial IHDM Edge-Wound Plug-In Inductors

     Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. announced the launch of two new commercial 1107 package IHDM edge-wound plug-in inductors - IHDM-1107BBEV-20 and IHDM-1107BBEV-30, soft saturation current of 422 A. Vishay Custom Magnetics IHDM-1107BBEV-20 and IHDM-1107BBEV-30 use iron powder core technology to provide excellent inductance and saturation current stability over the harsh operating temperature range of -55 °C to +180 °C, Low power consumption and excellent heat dissipation performance.

     Side-wound coil DC resistance (DCR) as low as 0.25 mΩ minimizes losses, improves current rated performance and increases efficiency. Compared to ferrite-based solutions, the IHDM-1107BBEV-20 and IHDM-1107BBEV-30 have a 30 % increase in rated current and soft saturation current, respectively, and remain stable at +180°C continuous operating temperature. Inductors have soft saturation characteristics, and the inductance value can be expected to decrease with increasing current, independent of temperature.

    Inductors operate up to 350 V and are suitable for high current, high temperature power applications including industrial, medical and defense systems DC/DC converters, inverters, differential mode chokes, and motor and switching noise suppression filter circuits. Inductors are available in two core materials, which can be selected to optimize performance depending on the application.

       The IHDM-1107BBEV-20 and IHDM-1107BBEV-30 standard striped tin-plated pins are suitable for plug-in retention. At the same time, Vishay can customize device performance according to inductance value, DC resistance, rated current and rated voltage requirements. Customizable mounting options include bare copper, surface mount and press fit. To reduce the risk of tin whisker growth, the inductors are hot-dip tinned. The device is RoHS and Vishay Green compliant and halogen free.
