NCTE has expanded its 2300 torque sensor family with the release of new variants for torque range measurement tasks as low as 0.5Nm. The range is now available from Ixthus Instrumentation with torque ranges from 100Nm to 0.5nm. With measurement bandwidth of up to 1,000Hz, speed of 10,000 RPM and accuracy of 0.5%, these non-contact long-life sensors are ideal for torque, shear, speed and Angle measurements in precision machinery, And small electrical test bench motor and engine, controlled screw fastening and capping operation, machine tool performance control, robot manipulator, etc.

The torque sensor uses a physics principle called inverse magnetostriction in a patented process, in which the surrounding magnetic field alters the magnetically encoded components in the sensor. Each sensor contains two magnetic fields in opposite directions to eliminate harmful interference from the EMC. This real-time process (torque measurement may be static or dynamic) detects small magnetic changes to obtain accurate data. Factory calibrated and certified sensor output is 0... 10 v DC, 4... 20mA, CANbus and USB, the power supply voltage requirements are 5 to 28VDC. USB option includes PC analysis software.

Plug-and-play sensors do not require external signal conditioning and integration is easy as the sensor becomes part of the shaft assembly. This non-contact sensor technology is particularly resilient to shock and vibration. The selection of protection levels allows use in harsh conditions - even in oil or underwater - with temperatures ranging from -30 ° C to +85 ° C. The series is offered in nominal diameters of 8,9, and 15mm, with seven measuring ranges ranging from 0 to 1Nm and 0 to 100Nm.

A wide range of standard torque sensors can be measured up to 10KN and variations can be customised on request. These sensors are widely used in agricultural and commercial vehicles including, but not limited to, take-off axles, engine and turbine test stands, electric bicycles, robotics and processing machinery, performance racing sports and automotive engineering.
