The TC1121 is a charge-pump converter with a 100mA output current capability. Available in 8-pin SOIC, MSOP and PDIP packages. It converts the 2.4V to 5.5V input to the corresponding negative output voltage. Like all charge pump converters, the TC1121 does not use inductors, saving on cost, size and EMI.

Encapsulation type

When the frequency control input (FC) is connected to ground, the airborne oscillator operates at a typical frequency of 10kHz (V+ = 5V). When FC is connected to V+, the oscillator frequency is increased to 200kHz, allowing the use of smaller capacitors. Operating at the sub-10 KHZ frequency produces a lower static current and is done by adding an external capacitor from OSC(pin 7) to ground.

Functional Block Diagram

The TC1121 can also be NSconnected OSC driven from an external clock. A typical 10 KHZ supply current of 50 μA drops to less than 1 μA when the off input decreases, whether using an internal clock or an external clock. The TC1121 is available in 8-pin SOIC, MSOP, and PDIP packages.
