Flex Power Modules introduces the BMR350, a 1/4 brick non-isolated dc-dc converter rated at 860W continuous Power and 1200W peak Power, ideally suited as an intermediate bus converter to Power processors and asics with peak Power requirements. The product offers 40-60V (80V/100ms) input and 12V fully regulated output with a maximum current of 100A and an adjustable range of 8V to 13.2V. Innovative transformer coupling, non-isolation topology reduces the number of components and current stress. It is produced at a half-load 48V input voltage. Peak efficiency level of 97.8%. The derating of the device is characterized by the innovative company's 3D thermal data graph, which specifies the available output power for a given actual pin and substrate temperature up to 100C, as well as the user's airflow rate. This allows maximum power to be extracted without pressure on the converter.

This device complies with EMI standard EN 55032/FCC Part 15J "Class B" with recommended external filter. Active current sharing between paralleled modules is an option for higher power levels.

Includes complete protection against output overvoltage, overcurrent, and module overheating, and PMBus interfaces provide remote control and monitoring, supported by the "Flex Power Designer" software tool. A notable feature is the inclusion of an "event data logger" that can be queried to analyze pressure conditions before the converter is turned off.

Terminal through hole pin, suitable for paste pin reflow, wave soldering or manual welding, position compatible with similar products on the market. The device is in a standard quarter-brick format, covers an area of 58.4mm x 36.8mm and is only 12mm high, including an integrated base plate with threaded fixing holes.

Anders Sellin, Product Manager at Flex Power Modules, commented: “We took a novel approach to the BMR350 with its transformer-coupled, non-isolated topology. This keeps cost and component pressure low without compromising efficiency.”
