Texas Instruments introduced a series of advanced tools in WEBENCH Power Designer that provide experienced engineers with extensive design control, analysis, and troubleshooting capabilities to create complex power supply designs. From control loop compensation to simulation output, WEBENCH Power Designer now places cutting-edge tools in the hands of professional design engineers, creating power for industrial, automotive, and communications equipment.
Since 1999, TI's free WEBENCH tools have simplified and accelerated the design process for more than 325,000 engineers worldwide. Although this is still easy to use for novice or time-critical engineers to quickly create, optimize, and simulate designs, these three new advanced WEBENCH tools provide experienced power supply design engineers with extensive control over complex designs, and Easily export simulations to computer-aided design (CAD) platforms from Altium and Cadence Design Systems Inc. Watch the video to learn more about the new WEBENCH advanced tools.
WEBENCH Advanced Options-Developing a power solution for complex design requirements is an iterative and time-consuming task. New advanced options in WEBENCH Visualizer include a set of easy-to-use controls for specifying complex design requirements such as manufacturability, component constraints, and design control. Engineers can now quickly find solutions to accurately match their advanced design requirements.
WEBENCH Compensation Designer-One of the pitfalls of power supply design is the unstable control loop. The new WEBENCH compensation designer tool predicts and automatically corrects errors in control loops for stable power supply design. This quick "fix for me" feature is a valuable tool for novice or time-critical engineers. It also provides a manual mode for advanced power experts to adjust the control loop for greater bandwidth and stability in their designs.
WEBENCH Simulation Export-The new WEBENCH Simulation Export tool moves power schematics to the user's preferred simulation environment. With just a few clicks, without any intermediate software, WEBENCH Power Designer can quickly export complete designs to the TINA-TI ™ simulator or Altium Designer and Cadence OrCAD and PSpice tools. WEBENCH Simulation Export combines TI ’s WEBENCH Schematic Export and PCB Export tools, enabling engineers to create their power supply designs and easily download layouts directly into five popular CAD tools. “After adding the simulation export function in WEBENCH Power Designer, engineers no longer need to“ need to manually re-create the schematic in OrCAD Capture, and then collect the SPICE model and enter it into the PSpice solution, otherwise you will worry about confusing the manual process ", Said Josh Moore, director of product marketing for the OrCAD product line Cadence." Now, you can easily export to Cadence OrCAD Capture through WEBENCH Simulation Export and use PSpice tools to perform simulations, and easily download a complete simulation network created with WEBENCH Power Designer Tables and SPICE models. "
WEBENCH Designer and Architect tool enables engineers to easily create, simulate, and export custom design component library contains more than 40,000 components from 120 manufacturers. The company said the tools available in eight languages.
