Data de postagem: 2022-06-01, EPCOS (TDK)

E-peas' two power management ICs (PMICs) automatically switch between boost, buck-boost and buck operation to maximize energy transfer. Both the AEM10330 and AEM30330 extract DC power from ambient energy harvesting sources to simultaneously power applications and store energy in storage elements.

The AEM10330 is designed for solar deployment, while the AEM30330 is targeted for RF/vibration applications including industrial, home automation and asset tracking. Each device can deliver up to 60 mA to allow fast charging of storage elements. They also offer configurable Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) to continuously monitor and regulate the input with a fast 20ms refresh rate. A cold-crank circuit enables the PMIC to start acquisition with only 275 mV and 3 μW of input.

These integrated energy management devices can automatically select between three inputs (harvester, storage or primary battery) and two outputs (storage or application load). These devices accommodate input voltages from 100 mV to 4.5V and offer selectable load voltages from 1.2 to 3.3V.

Battery protection features include optional overcharge and overdischarge protection for any type of rechargeable battery or supercapacitor; fast supercapacitor charging; and dual-cell supercapacitor balancing. The AEM10330 and AEM30330 are available in a 5×5-mm, 40-pin QFN package, operate over a temperature range of -40°C to +125°C, and require only three capacitors and one inductor.
