Gowanda Electronics has launched its first series of ceramic chip inductors for power applications, the SMP0603. These high-performance chip inductors can also be used for rf applications in the commercial, medical and defense markets. The new power line is ideal for test and measurement, industrial control and automotive applications.

This series of products is designed to meet the needs of the power electronics market for high current processing ceramic chip inductors. This high-performance series is also suitable for rf environments, as well as communications, guidance, security, radar and test and measurement applications. Inductors with a high current rating are essential for test and measurement equipment, industrial control equipment, and DC-DC converters and switching power supplies used in automotive applications including electric vehicles and charging stations

Standard terminals are gold-plated nickel and roHS compliant. The 37 discrete parts in the series offer a range of performance including inductance from 1.8nh to 27nH, DCR ohm from 0.01 to 0.04 and rated current mA DC from 1750 to 3400. All of its on-chip inductors, including this new line, meet the maximum 1% TML vent requirement when tested in accordance with ASTM E595.

The inductor has a flat top cover for picking up and placing components and they are suitable for reflow soldering. The operating temperature of this power series ranges from -40℃ to +125℃.

Unlike other chip manufacturers, these on-chip inductors use co-firing terminals and full package designs to meet market demands for chemical resistance, vibration/shear resistance, electrical and mechanical integrity, durability during handling/processing, and implanted device components (human bodies).

The product line is extended using the company's line of similarly sized ceramic chip rf inductors, which are optimized for higher current handling, making the new line ideal for power applications.
