XP Power officially announced on June 19th the launch of a new compact 550W AC-DC power supply that can be used for natural convection cooling, conduction cooling, and forced air cooling. This new PSU can meet medical and industrial applications and is suitable for a wide range of applications - including sealed enclosure environments.
In the medical field, the CCP550 series can be applied to a variety of medical equipment, including ventilators, patient monitors, imaging systems, and laboratory equipment. Industrial applications include various test equipment, instruments, process control, printing, and cash handling. The product is also suitable for factory automation, audio/video, and IoT devices.
The CCP550 series has a total of six different single outputs, including 12V, 15V, 18V, 24V, 36V, and 48VDC. All series include a 12V, 0.5A fan output, and provide a 5V/2A standby output and remote on/off function as options.
The combination of double-layer aluminum substrate structure, conduction-cooled power magnetics, and high-efficiency zero-voltage switching (ZVS) topology ensures a high level of efficiency and excellent thermal performance of the product. As a result, power can reach up to 300W with convection cooling and 400W with conduction cooling, enabling sealed operation, silent operation and high reliability.
When used with 20CFM of forced air, the CCP550 series delivers a full 550W output, ensuring excellent power density levels in its compact (37.5mm [1.48in]) enclosure, 127.0mm x 76.2mm5 [in x 3in] footprint.
For medical applications, the CCP550 series is certified to IEC60601-1 Ed.3 with 2 MOPPs from primary to secondary and 1 MOPP from primary to ground and secondary to ground. Combined with low ground and patient leakage currents, the CCP550 is ideal for floating (BF) patient contact medical devices.
A wide input voltage range (80–264VAC) ensures the product is suitable for global use, including home medical applications. In addition, the CCP550 series can operate in ambient temperatures as high as +70°C and as low as -30°C. When the main output is inhibited, the product's power consumption is less than 0.5W, ensuring it meets challenging energy efficiency requirements.
The CCP550 series is an easy-to-integrate, high-power density, high-efficiency solution for a wide range of fanless and fan-cooled applications, including medical devices, industrial electronics, and test and measurement. The product also supports sealed, semi-sealed and other high IP ratings and can operate when conduction cooled.
