THine Electronics has launched a new standalone ISP, THP7312-P, to support YUV format video streaming resolutions up to 4K 30fps.

The 32-bit RISC-based hardwired image signal processor CPU on these chips delivers high performance, including low latency of 1ms and 0.5W power efficiency. And the new ISP supports all the features of the existing THP7312, but provides higher video streaming resolution at higher frame rates. It also integrates an RAW8 output option that requires interface and collaboration with ISP blocks of large-scale soCs.

    The new ISP offers two package options, a BGA (8mm x 8mm) and a smaller WLCSP (3.9mm x 4mm).

The ISP is supported by the company's upgraded GUi-based ISP firmware development tool, which accommodated its higher output speeds. The upgraded CDK tool includes several key and easy-to-use software tools as well as a hardware suite with built-in THP7312-P (TheVAP7312-P), enabling customers to quickly develop their own custom ISP firmware IP to drive and manage their CMOS production camera sensor modules.

Tak Iizuka, Lead solution architect at THine Solutions, said:"The increase in MIPI CSI-2 output data rates may sound like a modest improvement, but it's actually a breakthrough for many applications that require real-time, uncompressed 4K vision," "With THP7312-P and our development tools, customers can customize their high-performance video streaming applications to go into production faster than ever before."
