The DRV10983-Q1 device is a three-phase sensorless motor driver with integrated power MOSFETs that can provide continuous drive currents up to 2 A. This device is specifically designed for cost-sensitive, low noise, low external component count fan and pump applications. The DRV10983-Q1 device maintains the register settings at 4.5V and supplies the motor with a supply voltage as low as 6.2V. If the supply voltage is higher than 28V, the device will stop driving the motor and protect the DRV10983-Q1 circuit. Capable of handling load dump conditions up to 45 V The DRV10983-Q1 device uses a proprietary sensorless control scheme to provide continuous sinusoidal drive, which greatly reduces the pure tone normally produced by commutation. The device interface is designed to be simple and flexible. The motor can be controlled directly via PWM, analog or I2C input. Motor speed feedback can be obtained simultaneously through the FG pin and the I2C interface. The DRV10983-Q1 device has an integrated step-down regulator that effectively reduces the supply voltage to 5 V to power internal and external circuits. The 3.3V LDO can also be used to power external circuits. The device can be used in sleep mode or standby mode to save power when the motor is not running. The standby mode (8.5 mA) version (DRV10983SQ) keeps the regulator running, while the sleep mode (48μA) version (DRV10983Q) turns the regulator off. In applications that use a voltage regulator to power an external microcontroller, use the standby mode version. In this data sheet, the DRV10983-Q1 part number is used for two devices, DRV10983Q (sleep version) and DRV10983SQ (standby version), except for specific discussions of sleep and standby functions. The I2C interface allows the user to reprogram specific motor parameters in the registers and program the EEPROM to help optimize performance for a given application. The DRV10983-Q1 device uses an efficient thermal efficiency HTSSOP, a 24-pin package, and an exposed thermal pad. Operating ambient temperature is specified from –40 ° C to 125 ° C.
